Our final gathering for the 2009 block of the month will be on Saturday, January 9, 8:45 - 10:00. Don’t forget to arrive on time with your completed block!

New 2010 Block of the Month:

The Quilted Rose Society

After a busy holiday season we invite you to stop and smell the roses. Relax every 2nd Saturday over a cup of tea as we explore the splendor of our national rose, the American Beauty. We will begin to take signups on January 2nd for participants who wish to join the Society of the Quilted Rose. Membership dues will be $25 for this year. The first gathering of the Society will be on February 13th, followed by a meeting on March 13.

McKenna Ryan Club

For just $15 each month, join Kathy McLean for a fun evening of tracing, fusing, and appliquéing one of two new quilts designed by McKenna Ryan. You will have the choice of creating “Forest Hollow”, a quilt featuring owl, bunnies, squirrels and other forest animals, or “Back on the Farm”, featuring very reminiscent farmyard scenes. Patterns will be provided each month for the selected block. The signup fee is $90 for this 9 month club. The club will meet on the first Thursday evening of each month beginning in February. Sign up soon as space is limited to 10. Fabric kits will be available for both series.

Patti’s Tea Party

As everybody loves a tea party, we are preparing one you won’t want to miss. Our charming hostess is planning 6 months of “Sweet Tea” fun. For just $15 per month, each guest is invited for a 3 hour seating. Patti will guide you in the fine art of piecing these adorable tea pots (with some fusible appliqué, too). Tea enthusiasts should mark their calendar for the 3rd Tuesday, 6 - 9pm, or the 3rd Thursday, from 9 am - noon February through August for this sweet time of tea and fun! There are a limited number of kits available for those who don’t have time to brew over their own stash. Reservations are $40 per guest, and space is limited, so RSVP soon.

Barn Raising Club

Everyone has fond memories of old barns and chickens. Come share your stories while making this scrappy quilt, "This Old Barn" from Thee Quilt Company. Groups will be gathering on the 4th Tuesday starting in April and will continue through December. Gathering times are either 9 to noon, or 6 - 9 pm. Fee is $15 per month, plus a onetime signup fee of $45.

Sew-n-Supper

Bring your unfinished projects, or something you have wanted to start and a super supper will be provided along with Starbucks and dessert. Registration begins the first day of each month at 10am. Because space is limited to 10, each participant may only sign up and pay for themselves and one other kindred spirit.

Sit ‘n Sew

Attention Quilters! Do you want to stay in touch with other quilters? Come visit our Sit ‘n Sew day. This is an opportunity to finish up some old projects or start new ones. So, dig out your u.f.o.s, bring yourself and a friend, sewing supplies and your lunch and finish that project.

Binky Patrol

Meeting once a month, this heartfelt group of volunteers has created over two hundred blankets that are donated for children in crisis.
